The Challenge

Almost any problem we face as a society can be improved by better education. Yet we still see:
➤ Worried parents who doubt their children’s reading and writing skills
➤ Overwhelmed teachers trying to teach mathematics to students who can’t add, subtract or multiply fluently
➤ Frustrated experts asking why so many young people finish school with weak literacy

Current Solutions

More funding, extra time on basics, and better teacher training all help, but they don’t fix the root cause. With over a decade of teaching experience, I’ve seen that our go-to tools for teaching fundamentals often:
Aren’t built by teachers
Lack years of classroom-tested refinement
Cost too much, making it hard to share and pilot new approaches

Those tools work for many children - if you pour in enough money and time - but still leave a significant number of learners behind.

The Solution

Tectonic delivers free, teacher-developed tools that adapt in real time to each learner’s needs, whether in the classroom or at home.

Reading

With just a few minutes of daily practice, you can help your child learn to read. This all-in-one phonics system guides them from mastering individual letter sounds to decoding multi-syllable words. It’s easy to use and includes everything you need.

Mathematics

In just a few minutes of daily practice, children progress step-by-step from counting to addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and beyond. When they need support, an animation guides them to the solution.

Writing

While parts of the Tectonic writing system are still under development, a picture-of-the-day website is a great way to inspire story writing. The 'Tune In' option allows children to guess what the picture could be and gives a question to get them thinking.
